Big Grove Brewery was founded in 2013 by two long-time friends, Matt Schwab and Josh Weitz. They both share a passion for craft beer, great food, and better hospitality.
Originally, they envisioned Big Grove as a place to go with family and friends to enjoy a unique atmosphere, delicious food, and of course exceptional beer. To achieve this, they began renovating the space located just outside Iowa City in Solon, Iowa.
From the beginning, the Big Grove ownership team wanted to be both creative and nimble in their approach, helping to create their own unique brewery and food offerings. By collaborating with local farmers, Matt and Josh established a menu of Iowa-sourced produce and proteins.
In addition to the menu, Matt and Josh also created a rotating selection of beers, featuring seasonal and specialty brews. While the brewery has grown to include multiple locations and a wider selection of offerings, the focus has stayed on quality and consistency year-over-year.
Today, the Big Grove team remains dedicated to the original vision of the brewery—providing a comfortable atmosphere and great food and drinks for family, friends, and our local communities.
